What is the All-In-One AntiSpam Filter?

The All-In-One AntiSpam Filter(AIOASF) is a list of bad peers and bad files that may show up in your search results.

Why is this not included with shareaza?

The AIOASF is not included with shareaza because spammers change there tactics almost every month. New versions of Shareaza are typically released once a year and sometime even less frequently.

Will using this filter prevent me from getting any viruses?

Absolutely not! This filter is aimed at blocking spam results, not viruses or malware. We could not possibly index every bad file that is available through shareaza. Shareaza includes many other tools to help you eliminate poor quality files from your searches such as bitzi ticket lookups, and built in filters for suspicious, bogus, and DRMed files.

Where can I download it?

The AIOASF is primarily distributed using p2p technology. In other words, you need to download shareaza or another P2P client, and configure it correctly, to get it. How do I use it?

  1. Download the security filter(s) using the link above
  2. In Shareaza, press the [F7] key on your keyboard to open the security window
  3. Delete any existing filters
    1. Select the first item in the list
    2. Scroll the the end of the list using your mouse (to keep the first item selected)
    3. Hold down the [Shift] key and select the last item on the list
      4. *all items should now be highlighted*
    4. Press the [del] key on your keyboard and click "yes" when prompted if you want to remove all selected security rules
  4. Right-click anywhere inside the white area and select "import" from the menu that appears
  5. Browse to where you saved the files and select the file you just downloaded

How much does the AIOASF cost?

The AIOASF is 100% free. You can download, modify, and redistribute it as you please, but please give credit where it is due.

Is the AIOASF available for other P2P programs?

No. The AIOASF is a highly specialized filter that takes advantage of shareaza's wide array of advanced search filtering capabilities. Other P2P applications do not support the same filtering techniques that Shareaza uses (none that I know of).
